Animal Village
Materials needed
- Our Volunteers are always looking for polar fleece (stretchy type or not) to make blankets for our cats and kittens to curl up on when they are in their cages. If you have any spare (a bolt or just a few metres) that you would like to donate we all would greatly appreciate it - especially our cats and kits.
- We also need large amounts of Teslon and/or nylon parker material for our Volunteers to make carry cage covers with. If anybody can help us out we would very much appreciate it. We need lots of covers to make it less stressful for our cats and kittens when we transfer them around the village.
Animal essentials
- Canned cat and dog food:
We routinely need canned cat and dog food because if we have sufficient for the Village, we pass it to our Foster Families who are looking after our waifs.
- Shredded paper:
We can only use wide strips, not the narrow ones.
- Newspapers, towels and blankets are routinely required for our animals. Please - no electric blankets, because we've discovered that the puppies will pull out the wiring very quickly!

High-Wall

Inspectorate
Ropes & other
equipment (including leads etc) $400
We are always in need of
specialised leads, collars, harnesses and ropes for handling animals during
uplifts and rescue situations.
Running wires $40 each
Our inspectors sometimes
come across a dog that is tied up on unfenced properties by an
owner who otherwise is trying to do the best they can for their pet.
In these circumstances an inspector may provide a running wire for
the dog so that it can enjoy some freedom of movement for exercise
and play. Sometimes a little education and a $40 running wire is all
that is needed to allow a dog to have an improved quality of life within
an existing home.
Muzzles $15 each
If dogs are injured, anxious
or especially aggressive they pose a potential biting threat
to our inspectors and hospital staff – in these circumstances
a humane muzzle allows for safe handling & transportation of the
dog with the minimum of stress to the animal.
Creature Comforts Op Shop
- shop-style shelving is still deperately needed
- a lockable three-draw filing cabinet
