Gone... but not forgotten

DIANNE HAWORTH, the founding editor of Animals’ Voice who passed away in August, was remembered at a moving dedication at the SPCA Auckland Animal Village on October 31.

On the Village lawn, family and friends gathered under a blue sky and were welcomed by SPCA Auckland CEO Bob Kerridge and his wife Michele, who shared their memories of an “extraordinary lady”.
Dianne’s husband Martin unveiled a bronze statue and plaque that the Society has dedicated in Dianne’s honour. Prayers preceded the planting of a memorial golden tree (robinia frivia) and Dianne’s ashes were scattered at the foot of the tree.
At the end of a beautiful service, everyone raised their glasses to toast and say farewell to a woman who had touched many lives – human and animal.
