Animals of all species gather for the annual celebration of their Patron Saint, St Francis of Assisi, which takes place in the spectacular setting of St Matthew-In-The-City in October each year.
Last year the 100 year old church was packed to the rafters with cats, dogs, fish, birds, rats, mice, donkeys, goats, llamas, and even a great bull, together with their doting owners, to celebrate life, and what a great party it was.
Auckland SPCA CEO Bob Kerridge says that this was his 22nd Blessing of the Animals Service, and that every year it gets better and better!
