Lost and Found animals
It's an anxious time for a family when a pet goes missing, but there's lots that you can do to improve the chances of him or her being found again.
We suggest that you follow this link to get great advice on what to do when your pet goes missing.
Similarly, if you've found an animal that you think belongs to someone else, follow this link for good advice on found animals.
Please note that from December 2007, we are no longer able to provide our Lost and Found email and/or telephone service due to limited resources. Pets on the Net are now our authorised 'lost and found' website and we strongly recommend you go to their site to check whether your pet has been located.
You may visit the Auckland SPCA Animal Village between 10am and 4pm on any day of the week to check whether your animal has been brought in to us. All stray or lost animals that arrive at the Auckland SPCA shelter are listed on the Pets on the Net website. We also check all animals for a microchip and, if one is found, we contact the owner immediately.
When you do find your pet, please remember to alert Pets on the Net, Animal Control and Veterinary Clinics and remove your posters from local notice boards.
If you have found a cat, rabbit or bird you can bring it out to the Auckland SPCA. If you have found a dog, please contact your local animal control (check the Telecom White Pages).
