Auckland SPCA Adoption Feedback

We really appreciate it when people take the time to drop us a line and a photo, to let us know how their newly adopted companions are doing in their new homes...

Hi there- just wanted to say hi to you guys- you used to look after me in Mangere a couple of years ago till I found a new family…..well the news is I’m doing really well and recently moved to Australia with my folks!!

I got to fly on a big plane and now I live in Queensland. Its great here- I love the sunshine- but not so keen on the thunderstorms- but I’ve got a dog flap now so I can hide in the garage under the couch when that happens.

And I LOVE the beach- there’s a picture of me after I’ve been swimming and rolling in the sand – or was it mud!?

Anyway thanks for looking after me.

Lots of love Billy

Hi there. My name is Candy.

My foster family thought I was coming to visit for a couple of weeks, but I had other plans. I played with them for ages providing them with hours of entertainment and I gave them lots of cuddles. Now they can’t do without me. I like to sit on top of the couch and supervise them. Then I make them do their daily exercise, running around with a piece of string while I chase them to keep them going.

After a nap, I like to play soccer with a paper ball. Every so often I stop so they have a chance to hit the ball a couple of times before I take over again.

Hi there,

We have called our border cross puppy Nesha ( it means two in Apache as she is our 2nd dog) and our kitten Oska. They are great mates and have brought alot of fun and joy back into our household. They have throughly entrenched themselves into our lives and we can't see our family ever being without them. While we cannot ever replace DW, we have a wonderful, loving dog and laid back kitten!!

Many thanks for giving us that!!

Julie

Hello it me 'Zac' and my family thought it was time e wrote and told how I was coming along. I'm not sure what my name was before, but I'm the Labrador who had the Shapei head.........They all call ne Roly , but my name is Zac. I love my new home and I keep the moko's occupied. My little hose mate Bailey is still with us too, but he's 10 now.

Hi there, My name is Vanessa and I just thought I’d drop you a line to tell you about my cat. I [adopted] her from you twelve years ago as a scrawny, shy kitten. I was five years old at the time and she was the first cat I ever had. This scrawny runty kitten has now turned out to be my best friend. I can remember when I was little, I’d walk to school and find that my cat had followed me all the way into class that day. She is now twelve years old and is so affectionate, friendly and in the most wonderful health (though she has always been a litlle overweight!) I love this cat more than words can describe. I just wanted to thank you for my awesome companion whom I hope I can keep with me forever.

Thanks SPCA for the best cat in the world!

Hi there. My name is Irene and I thought that i would give you guys the first update of our puppy Brodie. It was December of last year, my partner and i had recently bought a home and being that we had both come from families where dogs were always present we felt it only naturally to adopt one of our own.

I thought it would be the perfect christmas present for the both of us so on one of my days off i headed to the village and in no time at all i found a cute little bundle, snoring her head off while all her siblings were playing about. I spoke to one of the attendants, filled out the paperwork and then i got to have my first cuddle with the soon to be named Brodie.

Brodie has gotten into all kinds of trouble, she has pulled up the carpet in our hallway, tried to go surfing, jumped fences and won over hearts of everyone she meets.

Thankyou so much for letting us adopt such a wonderful pup!

Irene and Nick

Dear Bob

Thank you so much for allowing me to adopt one of your beautiful Cats we now call Cass. She is a year old and lives at my friends home with quite a few other cats. My friend and I have known each other for twelve years and she has a large property. Cass has fitted in so well with the other cats and is free to roam around the property which she loves. Cass has a good healthy appetite and I see to it that she gets the best food that money can buy.

Cass is quite extraordinary as she has an extra toe on all her feet but we love her heaps. Thanks very much for your lovely letter Bob and Best Wishes from Terry

Hi. Our little dog, Phoebe, was an SPCA special! We have had her for 6 years now: we thought you might like to see these recent photographs of her - the fire is still on and she obviously feels the cold!

Kind regards

Ann

imageHi Sarah, just wanted to send you a picture of Pushka (formally Princess) who I brought from the Spca in Mangere Auckland on January of this year.

She is sooo gorgeous and we love her heaps.

A very affectionate and fun cat. She is doing just great.

many thanks

Fiona

…we brought a lovely little cat at Queens Birthday weekend, she is a lovely little girl (Cameo and White aged 3), she come with no Name so we named her NEMO. My cat sadly died a few weeks before aged 17. At first I thought we were going to have her to send her [back], she was classed as a quiet little girl that would like someone where quiet to live…well our household is hardly quiet with a tornado 2yr old boy and a 5yr old dog.

As time went on we discovered Nemo is NOT quiet but is quiet the little character and she has certainly made her mark in our house, she is excellent with our son and she has brought the dog down a peg or two the other day I caught them sleeping together, so obviously its just an act when we are all at home. You guys do an excellent job.

Many thanks

Trudy

Hi, At the begining of this year I decided to adopt a kitten. I chose a tabby female who I called Molly. She is now well and truely settled in to our house. She is very affectionate, liking nothing more that snuggling up with me when I am relaxing. She is like my little shadow following me around when I am home and is always waiting for me when i get home. She has made a big impression on the two guys I live with turning them both into big softies. She has worked out that by the heater is a good spot making sure that she is close to the warmth but not to close. Thank you SPCA for allowing me to Adopt Molly, as I couldnt amagine my life without her now. Thank you for the wonderful job that you do.

Your sincerly Donna:)

i adopted molly last year shes settling in perfectly shes really happy and plays with the cat and they both sleep in the same bed even though we bought her one and they have fun playing with each year so thank you spca
